FC Barcelona: UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals Draw

On Friday, UEFA - the organisers of the world's elite football competition, the Champions League - announced the draw for the Quarter final stage of the tournament. Eight teams including FC Barcelona found out their opponents on their way to the final.

As fate would have it, Barcelona drew against on of the best teams in France: PSG. This is the second time these teams will be facing each other in the 2014-15 competition after battling it out in the group stages. On that occasion, both teams shared the spoils over two legs with both of them winning at their home grounds.

Both teams qualified at the expense of English teams with Barcelona comprehensively defeating current EPL Champions Manchester City with a 3-1 score line over two legs. PSG on the other hand had a tough time against the much stronger Chelsea FC. After a 1-1 draw in Paris, the teams played out a tense second leg in London where PSG won the tie on aggregate in one of most memorable matches in the history of the competition.

Both teams will approach the quarter finals with high confidence. Barcelona are enjoying a phenomenal season in the domestic league and are in superb form right now. On the other hand PSG, while suffering from a drop in their domestic form, are still contenders for the championship and their display against Chelsea FC will definitely cause some concern in the Barcelona locker room.

All things considered, the quarter finals are going to be a showdown of epic proportions.
